Royal Channel Island Yacht Club (Guernsey)

NashCopy Herm via Tobars

Summer came to the Channel Islands on Saturday at last! It was the Nashcopy Herm via Tobars race which started in glorious sunshine and a warm 10 SW. breeze, perfect sailing conditions. BlackJack led the fleet from the start to the Tobars Passage, where for most of the fleet it became too shy for most to hold spinnakers. The course took the yachts out to Noir Pute (East of Herm) and then up to Grande Amfroque, along the northern Humps and back to finish at St. Peter Port.

The crews all returned to the Club for the post Race refreshments and prizes courtesy of our general sponsors NashCopy. many thanks to Clive Le Tissier for presenting the prizes and to our Race officer Stuart Place a assisted by Derek Knowles.

The next race is the big one, the final race of the series, the NashCopy Round Guernsey. The start time is 08:00 on Saturday 31st August and will be followed by the infamous NashBash. Watch this space for further details…………..
