A yacht club’s ‘Laying Up’ Supper is traditionally held to celebrate the end of the sailing season and the time when boats are secured in their winter quarters. For many enthusiasts, however, the sailing season lasts 12 months of the year. Hence the Boatworks Frostbite Series that will see us start racing from early January.
However, it is appropriate to celebrate what has been an excellent season’s boating even if you are not laying up. The cost? £15 a head. As in previous ‘Club’ events this year, it will be a ticketed event with tickets on sale at the Bar only.
