We thought it might be a bit of fun in the run-up to Christmas to stage a novelty boating event which included both sail and motor. At.10:00 on Saturday, the 7th of December Stuart Place our Race officer will organise a start! He will call out the start on VHF channel 37 (M1) as though it were the start of a yacht race, the idea is nobody must be over the line before 10:00. He will give out detailed instructions on the radio. Then the boats have an hour to use the track feature on the plotter to draw a Christmas decoration, with all boats re-crossing the line before 11:00. Take a photo of your track and email it to me sail@rciyc.com and I will display them on the TV in the club for people to vote on the best. Yes, prizes will be available.
